Nice to meet you!

My name is Laura Alvarez, and I am an undergraduate student at North Carolina State University. I'm a Junior majoring in Accounting and also part of the Global Leadership & Team Decision Making Minor spring 2022.

I was born in Medellin, Colombia and move to the United States at the age of 11. I moved back to Colombia and, in 2018 I started my studies in International Business in University of Medellin.

In spring of 2021 I joined NC state as an international student and now I'm currently in my second year here.

Study abroad

The reason why I decided to study abroad is because I've always been passionate about different cultures, when I found this minor I realized that professionally and personally I was going to develop the skills I need in order to achieve my goals, create a better future for myself and have a meaningful impact to those around me.
